Sensitive & Self-Assured | Confidence | Set Boundaries | Self-acceptance | Find Your Purpose | Self-esteem
You've spent a long time believing that feeling everything so deeply was something to overcome.
It isn't.
This podcast is for the woman who is exhausted from managing herself just to get through life. The one who is ready to stop shrinking and abandoning herself, and start coming home to who she truly is. Not by dimming her sensitivity or putting it on a pedestal. By learning to work with it. Because you can be sensitive AND self-assured at the same time. You don't have to resolve one to have the other.
My name is Allyssya. I'm a highly sensitive woman who is finding her way by learning to trust herself, one moment at a time. Every episode is an invitation to do the same: to feel what's happening inside without being overwhelmed or paralyzed by it, to stay grounded around others without losing yourself, and to build a trust in yourself that runs deeper than confidence.
Sensitivity is the context. Self-assurance is the foundation.
Both are yours. At the same time. Right now.
Join me as we explore how to be Sensitive & Self-Assured.

Have you done everything "right"? The journaling, the retreats, the personality tests, the conversations with mentors, and still feel like your purpose is just out of reach? You are not alone, and it is absolutely not a failure of effort.
In this episode, we explore why the traditional tools for finding purpose often fall short, and what might be getting in the way. The truth is, purpose isn't something you think your way to, it's something you feel. And when you've been in a long season of stress, survival, or quietly managing everyone else's needs, that felt sense of purpose can go very, very quiet.
We talk about:
Why so many purpose-seeking frameworks miss the crucial ingredient of inner quiet
The signs you may be outsourcing your sense of direction without realizing it
The difference between analyzing your life from the outside vs. gently feeling into it from the inside
What "managing yourself" really looks like (and why it's not a flaw)
Four practical ways to create the conditions for your purpose to emerge rather than forcing it to appear
This episode is an invitation to ease the pressure, get curious, and trust that what you've been looking for isn't as far away as it feels.
You are never too late for your purpose.

You know her. The woman who seems calm in hard conversations. The one who doesn’t spiral, doesn’t overthink, doesn’t fall apart.
And somewhere inside, a quiet question rises: Why can’t I be more like that?
In this episode, we move beyond the usual advice to “just stop comparing yourself” and take a deeper, more honest look at what comparison is doing beneath the surface.
Because it’s not really about becoming her.
It’s about trying to escape the discomfort of being you.
We explore how comparison becomes a tool your brain uses to explain pain and how that pattern quietly turns into a war against your own emotions. Most importantly, we talk about what shifts when you stop fighting yourself, and how self-trust begins to rebuild from that place.
In This Episode, We Explore
🩵 Why comparison isn’t random, it’s targeted and protective
🩵 How “compare and despair” reinforces the belief that something is wrong with you
🩵 Why your sensitivity is not the problem, but your relationship to it might be
🩵 How comparison becomes a default coping tool and how to shift it
What if the women you compare yourself to aren’t doing it “right” they’re just doing it differently? And what if your way isn’t wrong, just unfamiliar, unpracticed, and unsupported?
Maybe you haven’t been trying to feel less. Maybe you’ve been trying to feel safe enough to feel without it meaning something is wrong with you.

In this episode, I’m joined by someone who has shaped my personal journey, especially during a pivotal time in my life.
Diane McDowell is a therapist of 25+ years turned relationship coach, and she’s also the person who first introduced me to the concept of being a highly sensitive person. That moment gave me language for something I had felt my entire life, but never fully understood.
Together, we explore what it really means to be highly sensitive in relationships, why so many of us believe something is wrong with us, and how to shift from self-rejection to self-trust.
We also dive into emotional safety, the concept of a “brain hijack,” and practical ways to stay grounded and connected even in the moments that used to completely overwhelm you.
What We Talk About
The internal “tug-of-war” and how to drop the rope
What a brain hijack is and how to recognize it in real time
Why emotional safety is your responsibility and what that really means
The difference between reacting from pain vs. letting pain move through you
Why not all conflict needs to be resolved
The power of visualization and building a relationship with your future self
If you’ve ever felt like you’re “too much,” or like relationships take more out of you than they should, this conversation will help you understand why.
More importantly, it will show you that nothing is wrong with you.
There’s just a different way to relate to yourself, and from that place, every other relationship begins to shift.

If you’ve ever told yourself “I’m just not creative”, this episode is going to gently challenge that belief.
In this conversation, I’m joined by creative wellness coach Lexi Reid, who works with high-achieving women in STEM to ease stress and burnout through simple, accessible creative practices.
With a background in science and regulatory work, Lexi shares how she rediscovered creativity not as something to produce, but as a powerful tool to regulate the nervous system, process emotions, and reconnect with yourself.
We’re diving into:
✨ Why creativity is a regulation tool, not a performance
✨ How highly sensitive women can use art to calm overwhelm
✨ The difference between creating for output vs. process
✨ How perfectionism blocks creativity
✨ Simple, low-pressure ways to start a creative practice today
✨ How visual expression can reveal patterns you don’t notice in words
Creativity is not about talent—it’s about access. You don’t need to be “artistic” to benefit from creative expression.
Start simple.A pen, paper, and a few minutes is enough to shift your state.
Process over product. The goal isn’t to make something beautiful. It’s to feel something, release something, or understand something.
Your nervous system responds to gentle, repetitive motion.Even drawing lines or shapes can move you from stress to calm.
What you create reflects what’s happening internally. And sometimes what you don’t include says just as much.
Sometimes, the simplest mark on a page can be the first step back to yourself.

Have you ever made a decision… and then immediately started questioning it?
You send the text, set the boundary, make the choice, then your mind jumps in:“Did I say the wrong thing?”“Was that the right decision?”“Should I have done something differently?”
If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.
In this episode, I’m continuing the conversation from last week on decision-making, and focusing on what happens after the decision is made. Because learning how to support yourself after a decision is just as important as making the decision itself.
When you don’t have a way to navigate what comes next, your mind will keep pulling you backward - replaying, second-guessing, and rewriting what has already happened.
I’m talking about how to step out of that loop and…
🩵 Why the post-decision spiral happens
🩵 How your brain and nervous system are trying to protect you from regret and disconnection
🩵 The difference between reflection and rumination
🩵 Why replaying decisions can slowly erode your self-trust
🩵 A simple, supportive process to move forward with more steadiness
Self-trust isn’t built by making perfect decisions.
It’s built by learning how to support yourself after the decision is made.
Work With Me
This is a core part of the work I do with my 1:1 coaching clients - learning how to step out of the spiral, regulate your nervous system, and build deep, steady self-trust.
If you find yourself constantly second-guessing your decisions and want support becoming more grounded and confident in how you move through them, I’d love to work with you.

For many highly sensitive women, decision-making can feel overwhelming. We want to be responsible. We don’t want to waste time. We don’t want to make the wrong choice or disappoint someone else. So we think…and think…and think some more.
But what if the idea that there is a single “right” decision is actually the thing keeping you stuck?
In this episode, I challenge the belief that decisions are right or wrong and offer a different perspective: decisions are directional, not permanent.
A recent hike up Camelback Mountain in Arizona was a crash-course in decision-making and a perfect parallel for making decisions in our everyday life. The next step only becomes visible once you start moving. But, taking the first step can be the hardest part, so I share several practical tools to help you move out of indecision and start building the self-trust that comes from taking action.
This conversation includes:
🩵 Why highly sensitive women often get stuck in overthinking
🩵 How fear can disguise itself as “being responsible”
🩵 Why indecision still moves time forward
🩵 The surprising way momentum builds self-trust
You don’t need certainty to take a worthy step because confidence is not the prerequisite for action. It is the byproduct of it.
Choose one decision you’ve been putting off and try using the tools from today’s episode to move forward.
Ready for support in your own next step?
If you’ve been circling the same decision or feeling stuck in overthinking and self-doubt, I invite you to schedule a consultation. We’ll talk through what you’re experiencing and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. Message me at info@allyssya.coach.

This week’s episode is a special one. 🎉 The Highly Sensitive Woman is celebrating its one-year anniversary, and I’m reflecting on what this past year of podcasting has taught me about growth, courage, and the power of taking action.
When I launched this show on March 13, 2025, I had no idea what would come from it. But I knew one thing for sure: the process of creating it had already begun to change me.
Over the last year, this podcast has grown far beyond what I imagined - reaching listeners in 93 countries, connecting me with incredible guests and conversations, and stretching me in ways I never expected. And along the way, it reinforced a lesson I see over and over again in the women I work with:
The biggest transformations often begin long before anyone else can see the results.
In this episode, I share:
What creating this podcast has taught me about confidence and self-trust
Why action creates evidence, not the other way around
The behind-the-scenes moments of doubt, imperfection, and perseverance
How small steps can create ripple effects we never imagined
Some exciting hints about what’s coming next for this community
If you’ve ever felt stuck waiting until you feel fully ready, confident, or certain before moving forward, this episode is a reminder that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply take the next step.
And if this episode resonates with you, please consider sharing the podcast with one woman who needs to hear it. Your small action could create a ripple effect that reaches farther than you realize.
Thank you for being part of this community and for making this first year so meaningful. I can’t wait to see what the next year holds for all of us. 🩵

In this reflective post–Valentine’s Day episode, I explore how getting clear on your needs, preferences, and emotional desires can transform every relationship in your life - romantic, familial, and friendships alike.
Through personal stories and gentle self-inquiry, this conversation highlights the difference between vague traits and lived experiences, the power of identifying non-negotiable needs, and how clarity strengthens self-assurance. When you know what you truly want and believe you’re worthy of it, rejection feels less personal, communication becomes easier, and you show up more authentically as yourself.
This episode is a reminder that clarity isn’t about control or perfection, it’s an evolving act of self-kindness.
The goal isn’t to find the perfect relationship. The goal is to know yourself well enough that whatever relationships you’re in feel honest, safe, and aligned with who you are.
